The 2023 Deserving Rides Event Was A Success!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2023 Deserving Rides Vehicle Giveaway Celebration!
This marked our 9th annual event, and it was truly the best one yet, made even more special by the venue – our brand-new location on HWY 50. We’re thrilled to announce that Advanced Auto Clinics’ second location is now officially open as of Monday, December 18th, to better serve our community. Event Kick Off: Photos With Santa
The morning kicked off with a festive meet and greet with Santa and his Elf, capturing the joy with free photos taken by our friend and professional photographer, Rocky. Special thanks to 104.5 WSLD for their live radio remote, engaging giveaways, and the exciting Santa Sleight giveaway contest. The cheers were endless when the lucky winner Mark started the car and won the $500 cash and prizes, including free pizza for a year – a fun tradition that makes our event unforgettable.
In November, Advanced Auto Clinic ran a promotion offering a 50% discount on oil changes to active-duty members and veterans. We’re proud to announce that, thanks to your support, we were able to donate $4000 to VetsRoll, Inc. Charitable Services. A big shout-out to WSLD for their additional donation, making this our most successful year yet.
This years 2023 Deserving Rides Winner
The grand announcement came from owner Tony Lynn, who shared touching stories about our deserving vehicle winners. This year, Pattie and Ron were chosen, with Pattie receiving the surprise on behalf of her husband, who is bravely battling cancer. The emotional moment was shared with the community, and the generosity continued with spontaneous cash donations from the Santa Sleight winner and another kind-hearted individual.
A surprise guest, Michelle, co-owner of Breathe Inc, a non-profit cancer organization in Lake Geneva, added a heartwarming touch when she got up and spoke. Michelle extended Breathe’s services to Pattie and Ron, showcasing the community’s spirit in navigating the cancer journey together. We had the honor to get to join forces with Breathe, Inc in October for our Putting The Brakes On Breast Cancer promotion. AAC donated $40 to Breathe, Inc for every completed brake job last October. The success of this event was a collaborative effort, with numerous individuals playing pivotal roles. Our brand-new HWY 50 facility was packed with the local community, providing a sneak peek of this incredible space. A massive shout-out to Jon Tanis, Tanis Construction and everyone involved in the construction of our new facility. Thank you for turning our dream into reality. Lynn, clearly proud of his crew and the community’s collective effort, emphasized the significance of giving back. A native of the community himself, he underscored the importance of working together to create a better world. The vehicle giveaway isn’t just a tradition; it’s a testament to the strength derived from the community’s support. Lynn expressed heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging that initiatives like these are made possible because of the backing from the community.
The spotlight then shifted to a poignant story of Ron, a community member facing the tough battle of cancer. Lynn recognized the challenges faced by Ron and Pattie Stowers, from navigating medical appointments to the sacrifices made, such as Pattie leaving her job to care for her ailing husband. The emotional peak of the event occurred as Ron and Pattie Stowers were announced as the deserving recipients of the vehicle. Pattie was visibly moved by the community’s gesture.
As Pattie approached to claim her new vehicle, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of joy and empathy. The community, through AAC and Tony Lynn’s leadership, had once again demonstrated their commitment to uplifting those in need, making the Deserving Rides Vehicle Giveaway a powerful manifestation of compassion and community spirit.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our unsung heroes – our crew, AAC employees, and AAC family – who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
